A dental filler has the compsn. (by wt.) 36-40% Ga, 34-37% Cu and 26-27% Sn, and is formed by mixing 40-45 wt. % eutectic liq. Ga-Sn alloy contg. 11 wt. % Sn, with 55-60 wt. % powdered Cu-Sn alloy (Cu3Sn) having a max. particle size of 40 mu and 55-70 wt.% being 20 mu. The filler has high physical and mechanical properties including a compressive strength of up to 3840 kg/cm2, and has improved plasticity so that it can be worked without using heated tools. The filling adheres well to tooth cavity walls, sets quickly (about 10 mins) and remains intact for a long time.
