A vinyl chloride emulsion polymer (I) esp. for film prepd. according to the Luvitherm process contains 0.5-5 wt. % graft copolymer (II) as processing aid. (II) comprises (a) 30-80 wt.% elastomeric polymer as the backbone with a Tg 0 degrees C and contains =15 wt.% (w.r.t. the elastomeric backbone) conjugated diene and (b) 70-20 wt.% 1-4C alkyl methacrylate and/or monovinyl aromatic cpd. and opt. other comonomers. The PVC may be processed more rapidly into a film. The films have good gloss and smoothness and may be used as adhesive or magnetic recording tapes.
