Appts. for formation of distended collars on plastics pipe has two groups of mould members (I) and (II), each having a part circular periphery, whereby an adjacent pair of members (I) of one group is arranged to receive between them a member (II) of the other group. The members (I) converge towards the centre of the mold and are provided with rebated recesses in which are accommodated the members (II) of the other group. Appts. includes a polygonal cylinder provided with cooling or h eating medium supply ducts and fluid supply lines each associated with a cylinder supporting the members (I) and (II), respectively, and defining chambers which serve for radial displacement of the members (I) and (II). Appts. also has control bars associated with a vacuum chamber for applying the pipes to the members of the moulding appts. and deforming the pipes to the required degree.
