The heat exchanger is for viscous and nonviscous media. The viscous medium guiding chamber has end closing plates with two helical, ribbed tubes for the nonviscous medium. One ribbed tube helix is enclosed by the other one. Between nine to fourteen ribs are specified for a given rib depth range of the ribbed tubes (23, 24). The spacing between the radial outside inner wall (13) of the chamber (22) and the adjacent ribs (6) of the external helix (24) is less than 1mm. The spacing between the adjacent rib tip of the external and the internal pipe helix is less than 1 1/2mm. The spacing between the radial inner wall (21) of the annular chamber (22) and adjacent ribs of the inner hellix (23) is less than 2mm.
