Densimeter for fluids esp. liquids - uses vibrating tongue whose frequency changes as density changes and having rods extending nearly to cores of exciter and receiver coils
The densimeter for fluids, esp. liquids, uses a vibrating body whose frequency changes as the density of the tested medium changes. The vibrating body is made to oscillate at its natural frequency as part of an electro-magnetic oscillation system. Its mounted end is clamped onto a non-oscillating support which also carries the exciter and receiver coils. The vibrating body is formed as a tongue (2) whose clamped end (3) is fixed above to the side wall (5) of a bar support (1). The freely vibrating end (6) carries two projecting, thin transmission rods (8, 9) of ferro-magnetic material. The rods (8, 9) have broad sides and are at right angles to the side wall (5). They extend nearly to the cores of the exciter (11) and receiver (12) coils.
