Appts. for the prodn. of foundry moulds, includes a compacting and filling head which travels in a vertical direction relative to the mould box. The accumulation of moulding sand above the mould core is smaller than in adjacent parts. Specifically, between the inner wall of the mould box and the pressing plate is a edge region with compensation frame. The latter encloses the lower end of the pressing head and accommodates the pressure.
