The telephone system, for establishing priority connections, has groups of input lines connecting to directional transmission devices grouped together by a bundle relay into one bundle marker. A command from the path hunter determines all transmission devices with the same one of two vacant identifiers. A changeover device changes over to the connection inputs of all transmission devices when no vacant identification for at least one normal input of the transmission devices exists.
