The method involves transferring a synchronization message by a master unit (10) i.e. electronic control unit, over a controller area networkbus (100), and providing slave units (20, 30) i.e. wheel control units, for executing computing cycles. A receiving time slot is provided within a cycle time for receiving the message. Time duration is determined as latency period between the receiving time slot and a time point by a time base of the slave unit. The cycle time is extended or reduced for synchronization of the computing cycles based on the latency period. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product comprising software code sections for executing a method for reducing latency period (2) a control device-assembly comprising a master unit and slave units.
