Silver-zinc oxide electric contact material - with added tellurium oxide, copper oxide, lithium oxide, indium oxide and/or tin oxide for welding and erosion resistance

Electric contact material consists of an alloy contg. Ag and uniformly dispersed metal oxides, comprising (a) 1-12 (atom)% ZnO, (b) 0.1-1% Te oxide or 0.2-8% Cu oxide and/or 0.1-8% Li oxide and opt. (c) 0.3-8% In oxide and/or 0.3-3% Sn oxide. The total amt. of (a), (b) and opt. (c) (as metal) is 2-13%. The material is free from harmful Cd and its properties are about the same as or superior to those of Ag-CdO material. It is suitable for both small and large contacts. It has good resistance to welding and erosion and is relatively cheap.
