The high-speed watercraft consists of a trimaran the three floats (1, 2, 3) being at the corners of a narrow-base rigid triangular frame with the apex leading. The front (1) is merely a stabiliser, the others being the load-carriers; all three are flat, planing-hull shaped. A transverse pivot for the front float permits variation of its attitude with speed and the other floats carry submerged foils (4) with variable depth setting so that the craft can operate as a hydrofoil. The foils are rotatable about their vertical axis to improve stability when turning.
