Wind powered generator on vertical axis - has aerodynamic blades positioned to provide self starting moment irrespective of wind direction

The generator has an impeller with blades in a horizontal plane mounted on a vertical shaft. The blades are arranged in pairs on opposite sides of the main shaft and equi-distant from it. Each blade is positioned on the end of a radial arm so that its aerodynamic centre of pressure is ahead of its point of connection to the arm in the direction of rotation. This position results in there being a force available to start rotation as soon as there is any wind in any direction. The impeller is therefore self starting.
