The power supply is intended for supplying lamps, relays, solenoids, data processing equipment etc. and has its outputs protected against short circuits. Breaks in internal connections are also detected and indicated and any fault currents to ground or live are also indicated. A logic circuit comprising two AND-gates is connected to the power supply's two inputs and connects a constant current sink to the base of an emitter follower connected across the two outputs. The emitter follower's base is also connected via a constant current source to the supply voltage.
