The road map has a transparent plate (1) which is used for tracing map sections and which acts at the same time as a carrier for an adjusting device. This device has a parallel guide on both sides of the plate and a magnifying glass (3) which can be moved to any point on the map (4) or on the tracing on the fibre. A compartment containing a lighting facility may be provided behind the transparent plate. Another compartment may be used to store separate road maps.
