Maps and charts. - In route or positicn indicators for maps, plans, charts &c. in which different paths or positions are shown by selective electrical illumination under the control of a series of switches, the operation is limited to one or a certain number of switches at a time by means of a common bar, which is capable of opening or yielding to receive stops on a limited number of the switches. The common bar may be in the form of a row of balls 1, Fig. 2, which are confined in a track 2, so as to permit the passage of stops 4 on a limited number of switches 3 of the push-button or pivoted blade type. In modifications, a flexible member, such as an air tube 7, Fig. 3, in a notched outer tube 8, a slack chain 9, Fig. 4, or a sliding plate having inclined notches, may be used.
