The cooling system is intended for a supercharge vehicle engine and uses a liquid and/or gaseous coolant. It comprises a charge air-cooler (7), cooling chambers (1a, b) in the engine block (1), an air-cooled heat exchanger (10) and a circulation pump (12), and may include one or more intermediate coolers and/or cooling chambers (6) of the charge air compressor (2), all of which are interconnected (8, 11, 13) to form a closed cycle. The charge air cooler and any intermediate cooler and/or charge compressor cooling chambers (6) may be connected upstream of or in parallel with, the engine cooling chambers (1a, b).
