The pulley block support is used in an arrangement for setting and adjusting a sail. The housing has holder and traction element rotating in the housing about housing longitudinal axis. This mechanism prevents bulging at the top of the sail due to sudden gusts of wind. The housing (1) has a rotating blocking and releasing mechanism (8, 9, 10) which is operated arbitrarily for releasing and acts as a lock automatically. The traction element (3) has a radially projecting locking pin (8) and a spring loaded ring which is pushed against the locking pin (8). A locking ring (9) has a helical face and a step for the locking pin.
