Chipboard or fibreboard produced intermittently in various lengths - using heated press of variable effective length and movable cutter

Method consists of cutting a desired length from a mat of cellulose-contg. and/or lignocellulose-contg. particles and thermosetting resin. The mat is advanced on a conveyor, the desired length is sepd. by a cutter and fed into a heated press. When the press is opened to remove the pressed board, the next length is simultaneously introduced. When changing from one length of board to a different length, the cutter is moved and the new length of at is cut off, the conveyor being advanced by the distance of this new length. At the same time, the length of the press is modified to suit the new length.
