Data processor store with voltage failure protection - using voltage discriminator which produces one of two binary signals to show battery voltage relative to specified threshold

The data processor store includes a stand-by battery which prevents data errors from being processed, when the voltage supply fails and the stand-by battery voltage is insufficient. The battery voltage is measured against a given threshold sufficient to maintain the stored data and an alarm operated and/or the read-out of data inhibited. A voltage discriminator provides one of two binary signals in dependdance on whether the battery voltage is above or below the given threshold. This signal is supplied to a store providing an output signal for blocking use of the stand-by battery if the voltage is insufficient. A second store receives a binary signal when the mains voltage is reinstated, both stores are coupled via gates controlled by an addressing signal, to a central control.
