A relief valve is used for a pressure cooker. There is a valve housing inserted into a recess of the cooker body, a main body or cover lid takes a rigid valve body movable against elastic forces. The body of the valve is movable against the tension of a steel spring (18) or against a material with comparable characteristics relative to its elasticity. The housing which encloses the valve body and the spring consists of a rubber elastic material. The valve consists of at least two sections, i.e. a spring base (23) fitted with the valve opening (25) and a valve pin (24), with the pin movable inside the opening.
