New chewing gum prod. has the form of a printed article, pref. a book, consisting partly or entirely of edible chewing gum compsn.. The pages and/or the wrapping foils may have a weakening- or perforation line, to facilitate tearing off. The chewing-gum compsn. may be printed with non-toxic food-dyes and protected with standard food preservatives. The book-pages may be bonded bya sugar-or syrup-contg. soln. as adhesive. Packaging costs are reduced. The article can be marketed in the shape of small format children's books or picture books and may also help to turn sweet-consumption to chewing gum consumption.
