The impact drilling tool has the reciprocating tool within the bore of a housing actuated by a compressed air distributor. A piston imparts blows at the back of the rotating tool. The rotating movement is actuated directly by this reciprocating piston with an arrangement provided with axially projecting teeth. The rotation system has a ring provided with axial tooth coupling fitted between a fixed and an axially sliding and rotating element. The displacement of the moving element is controlled directly by the piston. The tool is rotated by the piston while the piston and the tool are independent with regard to the axial displacements.
