Automatic transfer and coating apparatus for glass bottles - for coating neck and shoulder of glass bottles with a polymer

Selected portions of cylindrical articles are coated by conveying the spaced upright articles in line to a transfer station where the group of articles is engaged by jaws which rotate the articles through 90 degrees to a horizontal position and transfer them in spaced vertical alingment to a turret. The turret is indexed through 90 degrees about a horizontal axis, each article is rotated in the turret about its own axis and a coating is applied to the group during metation. The group of articles is then released from the turret turned through 90 degrees to revert to an upright position and then transferred to a discharge conveyor. Used for coating the neck and shoulder of glass bottles with a polymer. Three bottles are coated and handled simultaneously by the apparatus.
