The governor is for a hydrostatic vehicular gear and has a hydro-pump (1) and/or the hydromotor (4), adjusted by a variable pressure which is a function of the drive speed. The control adjustment pressure is produced dependent upon the working pressure in the gear. The control can operate simultaneously on a pressure governor for the hydro-pump, an overflow valve (12) in the gear working circuit or the hydromotor adjustment mechanism.
