Rotary drum for pelletising titanium-bearing particulates - comprises non-watering chamber proportionately larger than succeeding watering and non-watering chambers

Pelletising appts. for Ti-bearing particulate material comprises a horizontal rotatable drum which is partitioned into chambers. A non-watering chamber communicates with a watering chamber which in turn communicates with =4 further non-watering chambers. The chambers are disposed successively with the length of the first non-watering chamber being 2-2.5 times the length of the watering chamber. The length of the following non-watering chamber is equal to that of the watering chamber. The appts. is used for pelletising beneficiated Ti ores and their derivatives, e.g. Ti slags. The feed is aggregated in the first non-watering chamber. High strength pellets can be formed since the pelletising procedure continues after admixture of a binder. There is a redn. in the amt. of recycled fines.
