Seal for regenerative rotating heat exchanger - has sealing ring with bellows and sliding and ceramic protection ring

The seal is fitted between a gas duct and an air duct of a regenerative heat exchanger with rotating heat storage. The seal has metallic sealing profile in contact with a sliding layer against a rotating storage disc. A bellows arrangement which ensures reliable sealing, uses a ceramic material protection layer and improves temp, distribution in the seal. The sealing profile has on its side opposite to that covered with the sliding layer a heat insulating ceramic layer. This layer is placed in the region of the gap between the sealing profile and the rib of the sealing bellows. The ceramic layer has an embedded web connecting the bellows with the sealing profile.
