The gas-lubricated slide ring seal has a stationary slide ring and a rotating slide ring, which have sealing surfaces working in conjunction with each other, at least one sealing surface (2) being provided with micro-grooves, which in operation feed a gas-form medium between the sealing surfaces to form a sealing gap. The micro-grooves are provided with ciruclar first groove segments (3,4), which run concentrically to the central axis (5) of the slide ring (1) and at a distance from a first and second limiting edge (2a,2b) of the seal surface. To the facing ends of adjacent first groove segments (3,4) connect arc-shaped second groove segments (6,7), which run to the first limiting edge. Adjacent first groove segments and connecting second groove segments are arranged in the manner of an opened omega symbol. A number of arrangements of this type of first and second groove segments are distributed over the periphery of the sealing surface.
