Turbulence jet for intermingling continuous filament yarns - within a cylindrical chamber closed by a rotatable slotted tube

A device for intermingling the filaments of a continuous filament yarn comprising slit which can be closed by means of a tube which fits within the chamber, having a bore of any desired cross-section, which also has a longitudinal slot similar to the one in the wall of the chamber, and which can be rotated by mechanical or pneumatic means to bring the two slots into alignment to allow a continuous yarn to be entered into the chamber without having to be threaded in from one end. This construction provides a simple means of closing the turbulence chamber in a manner which does not hinder the intermingling air jet or present the risk of snagging filaments. The air flow is automatically interuppted when the chamber is opened, and a group of chambers can be easily interlinded to allow simultaneous opening and closing.
