Unintentional lock opening prevention mechanism for motor vehicle - has run=up face on mass compensating lever blocking opening lever

The device for ensuring that locks remain closed is esp. for use on vehicles, to prevent dangerous unintentional opening resulting from effects of acceleration forces. The arresting lever for mass compensation (1) is fitted with a run-up sloping face (4), sited in constant contact with the opening lever (7), blocking this in the closure position, to that blockage of the latter lever can be overcome with the normal amount of effort required for lock opening, in the lock's rest position. The mass-compensating lever can be of rectangular shape. This is compact but effective, and the compensating lever does not make a clattering noise.
