Liquid sample injection pot for gas phase chromatographs - having tangential carrier gas entry and volume sufficient to limit pressure rise on vaporisation to three times initial pressure
Liquid sample injection pot for gas phase chromatographs - having tangential carrier gas entry and volume sufficient to limit pressure rise on vaporisation to three times initial pressure
Gas chromatograph sample inlet consists of a tubular body into which the liq. samples are injected. One end is sealed tightly onto the column while the other end has a serum cap seal through which the sample is injected from a syringe. The carrier gas enters from a tangential inlet on the side. The dia. of the evaporation space corresponds at a minimum to the inner dia. of the column. Tge vol. of the injection zone is such that the pressure surge caused by the evaporation of the injected sample is pref. between 2 and 3 times (at most 4 times) the initial pressure. Appts. pref. includes a PTFE flow channel between the evapn. space and the column inlet. For use on gas chromatographs analysing liquid samples. Reduces the mechanical stress on the inlet section and on the column so that the peaks obtained are much closer to the Gaussian function.
