The spindle press with a central disc (3) between two return discs (1, 2) which rotates around it, has the two return discs mounted on separate spindles (5, 6) so that they can be rotated independently and in the same direction. The central disc is raised and lowered between them. One return disc rotates at a slower speed than the other disc, this speed being between a quarter and a half of the speed of the other return disc. In a second design, one disc is keyed to a common shaft, and the other disc rotates freely on it.
