The engine lubricating arrangement is for main and/or crank bearings and uses oil from a crankcase sump. A radial disc (4) near one end of the crankshaft (3) has passages (5) radiating from an axial drilling (13) from a header-chamber (12) around the shaft end with a connection (11) to the sump. When the engine is running oil is pumped along these passages by centrifugal force, past ball valves (6, 7) spring-loaded against that force. Spring carriers/valve stops (10) with perforations (9) permit oil to spray into the (enlarged) inlets (16), in the crankcase facing the disc periphery, of passages (15) supplying the bearings.
