The system has heat absorbed from the sun's radiation transferred to a heat storage medium, used to heat the working medium of an energy supply system, during interruptions in the sun's radiation. The heat storage medium may comprise a latent heat storage medium, used in a heat exchanger. A number of solar reflectors reflect the sun's rays towards a heat absorber mounted on a tower. This transfers the absorbed heat via a liquid metal to the heat exchanger. The working medium is vaporised in the heat exchanger with the vapour pressure used to drive a generator, which is followed by a vapour condenser.
