The equipment empties gas bottles whose valves are defective and whose necks accommodate protective caps. It comprises a pressure-resistant cap (5) forming a gas-tight joint with the bottle neck and having a union (9) for connection to a gas extraction pipe. A further gastight union (10) accommodates a drill bit (12) with a guide (11) and bit extension (13). These are directed at the central bore (14) in the valve body (15) and typically at a point directly below the sealing plug (20) of the valve.
