The auger conveyor separates profiled rods or pipes and has a number of coaxial screwed spindles, each with an auger on a cylindrical shaft. The shafts rotate in the same direction and at the same speed. At the inlet are one or more stops for the rods etc as they roll down, while one or more fingers on one of the spindles work with the stop. The fingers are formed by the inlet ends (26) of the augers (25) on spindles (17, 19) separated from each other by a further spindle (18). The inlet end (57) of the latter act as a stop. The finger or stop spindles are adjustable on their respective shafts (30, 31,24) so that adjacent augers can be adjusted for angle in relation to corresponding rod diameters.
