Method and seismic device for generating an output signal from a series of electromagnetic geophones

A method of an apparatus is disclosed for providing an improved high frequency signal response from one or more electromagnetic velocity type geophones by differentiating the output signal (Figure 1, not shown) at or adjacent to the geophones. This resulting in a higher sensitivity signal output with increasing frequencies in the signal from the geophones. Further, the higher signal levels produced can be transmitted to the transmitting cables of telementry system at a low impedance which reduces extraneous noise pickup and crossfeed effects due to electrical leakage to ground.
