Prawn shelling machine - with straightening, topping and flesh extracting stations

A machine for shelling of prawns receives the crustaceans through a positioner for a clamp to hold them by the rail. A straightener corrects their curvature before a cutter removes the head. This is discharged and the flesh is extracted in the next station, followed by the disposal of the empty shell. This is the first available machine to replace the conventional manual shelling of prawns. The mechanical method has a high productivity and is pref. from hygienic aspects.
