The steering control uses two drive devices (10) either side of the central coupling between adjacent carriages regulated by an electronic unit (9). The latter receives orders from direction monitors (7a etc.) corresponding to direction monitors (12a etc) associated with each drive device and each with a detector (8a, 8b) coupled indirectly to the double axle rotary chassis (3a, 3b) supporting a respective carraige. The fixed part of each direction monitor (7a, 7b) is secured to the body (1a, 1b) of the carriage. Pref. each drive device (10) comprises a hydraulic piston-cylinder unit with servo valves (13a etc.) in the hydraulic supply controlled by the electronic unit (19). The energy for moving the drive devices (10) provided by a motor-driven pump (15). Alternatively the drive devices (10) may comprise electric setting motors.
