Liq., esp. oil, is sepd. out of an air stream using a separator with a cylindrical body. Inside this is mounted a spiral vane with a series of circular doughnut shaped ring baffles along the inner wall of the vessel. These ring baffles have circular outlets around the upstream side. These allow any liq. collected on the upstream side of the baffles to drain down into a collection vessel which is mounted below the separator. Used with suction cleaners for drains and sewers esp. those on trucks for use on roads. Avoids the discharge of contaminated air causing environmental pollution.
