Heat resistant mould or coating compsn. - from poly:ol mixt., and monomer and trimer of 3-isocyanato:methyl-3,5,5-tri:methyl-cyclohexyl isocyanate

Moulded goods and coatings are prepd. by reacting, in presence of catalysts and at 20-100 degrees C, (a) a polyol mixt. with OH functionality =3, and (b) a mixt. of monomer and trimer of 3-isocyanatomethyl-3,5,5-trimethyl-cyclohexyl isocyanate (I) with NCO functionality =2. The ratio of OH:NCO is 1:0.8-1.2. The prods have high heat distortion temp., and good mechanical and electrical properties, and are weater-resistant. Uses include jewelery, furniture, machine parts, insulation switchgear, and goods for outdoor use.
