Refractory moulding sand is mixed with silicon- and/or ferrosilicon oxide dust. For some applications it may be mixed with ion oxide dust and clay, e.g. bentonite, and organic binders contg. no phenol, formaldehyde, ammonia or other environmentally harmful materials. The prods. are useful for prodn. of masks, cores and moulds.
