The lifting appliance, esp. loading shovel, planing shield or beam support, is hinged to a travelling machine such a loader or demolition machine by parallel guide-rods and swivelled up and down by hydraulic cylinders. One of the guide-rods (12, 13) is in the form of a triangular unit (13) inserted asymmetrically between the lifting tool (10) and working machine (11). It can be hinged in the area of thrust of one of the two swivel cylinders (18). The connection provides for reliable side support and readily permits inclination.
