摘要
During starch prodn. from potato pulp, the initial pulp has a wt. content of 10% solids. This is subjected to an enzyme reaction at 60-100 degrees C to convert some starch to glucose. The resulting slurry is subjected to pressure filtration. The moist cake from this, contg. 25% solids is then mixed with water or a polar solvent such as CH OH ethanol, isopropanol etc. The resulting slurry is then further filtered in a pressure filtrate to give a cake of 40 - 45 wt.% of solids, which is then dried. Used for producing starch from potatoes. Reduces the energy consumption per unit of starch.
