The breastplate harness for a riding horse has a neck belt running from the saddle over the withers and joining onto a jumping belt leading to the girth. At the withers (3) a yoke-shaped grip (6) is fixed to the neck belt (4) and protrudes above it. The free ends of the grip can be secured to the part of the belt (7) passing over the withers, and it can be circular in shape. A pair of auxiliary reins (8) can be attached to the belt below the attachment points of the grip.
