Spray device for filters - having split flexible sleeve which is stretched over threaded feed pipe and sealed in by screwing up conical collar

Filter nozzle for mounting in the dividing plates of filter vessels consists of a filter head which is attached to a pipe, the lower part of which is threaded. A flexible sleeve is attached to the spray head and this extends down over the pipe. Slits are cut into its lower part. The nozzle is inserted through a hole in the filter partition. It is then fixed by means of a fixing collar which has a conical taper. This is screwed up the pipe and compresses the sleeve into the hole through the plate to create a seal. Used in bed filters esp. for water purificn. and other uses in the chemical industry. Because it is made from only two components, it is simple and cheap to mass produce.
