The bearing assembly is for a driving roller unit of a continuous casting machine, typically with three rollers on a shaft and four supporting bearings. All bearings are of the ball- or roller-type, the inner ones at least being split. The outer race lower half of each split bearing comprises a half-race mounted in the base portion of a bearing housing which is also split, while the outer race top half consists of a housing half-shell secured to the base portion. All bearings can be double-row self-aligning roller bearings.
