High productivity cold rolling mill - uses relatively small work rolls each associated with respective set of eight intermediate and back-up rolls

The design uses two groups of nine rollers, with one group operating above the rolled material the other underneath. Each group consists of a working roll and with an intermediary roll arranged vertically above the working roll. On top of the intermediary roll a back-up roll is provided. The assembly is further fitted with two lateral intermediary rolls two further fitted with two lateral back-up rolls for the sidewise support, and two rolls for vertical support of the intermediary rolls. The design aims at reducing the diameter of working rolls on cold roll mills, while at the same time flexing of the roll due to stress from the rolled material is avoided.
