A first computer (1) generates acceleration, speed and rated path values in accordance with input dates for the individual scanning intervals, defined by Clock pulses from a clock pulse generator (2). These rated values are supplied over a data bus (3) to various axial calculators (4, 5, 6), each allocated to movement axis. Each such calculator has its output connected to a feed drive (7, 8, 9) for the associated movement axis. Each calculator receives the actual position values for an actual value generator (10, 11, 12). According to the data from the first computer each calculator transmits rated values to the control circuit for the associated drives. This transmission depends on the path to be travelled and on the position values given by the actual value generators. The allocation to the computer operations to the common computer and the axial calculators enables a parallel data processing, which in turn enables high feed velocities, even with several controlled movement axes.
