Plate evaporator in steam receiver shell - offers ratio of heating surface to plant volume twice that of existing plate evaporators

In a highly efficient plate evaporator for concentrating solns. used in the food and chemical inds. The evaporator comprises a stack of plates with alternating channeled, connecting spacers, build inside a steam receiver shell. In addition to connections for concentrate outlet and dilute prod. feed, the stack has steam inlet connections, a non-liquefied gas vent into the shell and a steam condensate drain into the shell, the shell having vapour take-off connections. The ratio of heating surface to plant volume is up to 35 or 40m2/m3.
