Extra-slim setting-screw block for two-piece orthodontic plate - deeply ridged-and-knobbed for secure anchorage within the plastic

The block consists of two sections, each buried in one piece of the two-piece orthodontic plate, and each having three cylindrical holes, of which the middle one is screw-threaded. The outer holes house guide pins, while a screw in the middle hole adjusts the distance between the two sections of the block, and, with it, the distance between the two parts of the orthodontic plate. The cylinders (but not the distance pieces joining them) have deep ridges round them which divide the two thickened outer borders into columns of knobs. This formation holds the sections of the block firmly within the moulded plastic. The device is exceptionally flat of its kind, so as to minimise any bulge it may cause in the orthodontic plate.
