Sand supplied to a reservoir is injected into the mould using a jet of air from a compressed air container. The container is situated above the mould and has air passages in its bottom and directed downwards. A lower connection into which air passages open out, is co-axially situated below the container and directed downwards. Guide elements in the connection close and open the air passages when desired and guide the jet of air. A reservoir situated above both the container and the connection is movable between a position below a sand hopper and a position co-axial with the container and the mould. The upper opening of the reservoir is fluid-tightly connected to the connection in order to receive the air jet. Fluid-tightness between the connection and the reservoir and between the reservoir and the mould is assured by devices exerting coaxial pressure. These also resist the counter pressure of the compressed air during blowing. Direct communication between the air container and the sand reservoir is achieved. Pressure can be reduced since the air passages are less tortuous.
